The Tenant Power Toolkit

In partnership with the Debt Collective, the LA Tenants Union, and Inner City Law Center, the Tenant Power Toolkit (TPT) allows any California tenant to file a detailed legal answer to their eviction in the state’s top 5 most spoken languages. Making eviction harder, and collectivizing it as much as possible, is one step along the road to land without landlords. As of 2026, tenants used the TPT to file one out of every five eviction defenses in LA — the nation’s largest court system.
